The Umpqua Kennel Club, Inc. is a non profit organization constituting an association of breeders and pet fanciers who are dedicated towards the betterment of pure breed dogs.

  • To encourage and promote the best in the breeding of Pure Breed Dogs.

  • To encourage members and breeders to accept the standard of the American Kennel Club as its standard of excellence.

  • To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breeds by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience/rally trials.

  • To conduct sanctioned matches and licensed all breed dog shows and obedience/rally trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club.

  • To promote educational programs and seminars.

  • Members experienced in every aspect of canine activities, conformation, agility, rally obedience, tracking and hunt testing.

  • AKC sanctioned dog shows.

  • Socialization is Wednesday night from 6:30-8:30. There is no charge but all dogs must be on a leash at all times and, for safety reasons, we discourage people from allowing their dogs to approach other dogs to "sniff" or otherwise make contact. We don't want any dogs to feel threatened or intimidated, nor do we want any unexpected surprises.

  • Mixed Breed Dogs can also compete in all AKC performance events.

  • Agility. For more info contact Debbie at 541-679-5571.

  • Want to know more about joining the club. For more info: Elaine at 541-680-2127 or Pam 541-530-1388.

  • CGC (Canine Good Citizen) evaluations for all dogs, including unregistered and mixed-breeds. CGC is a new title that AKC (American Kennel Club) awards to dogs who pass the CGC test which is basically an obedience test.

  • New facility will allow us to conduct training classes, socialization, CGC evaluations, practices, and our monthly meetings (2nd Wednesdays of the month @7:30 pm). The floor is covered in regulation dog show matting to prevent any injuries from slipping, and we have all the equipment needed for training in Obedience, Rally, Agility and Conformation classes.

  • Breed rescue groups. For more info: Sally at 541-315-5502.

  • Breed referral: Elaine Zech at 541-680-2127.

We actively contribute to our local community through sponsoring various dog-related activities. Some activities of note are:

  • Ongoing funding for canine 4-H activities in Douglas County.

  • City of Winston Dog Park.

  • Saving Grace Animal Shelter.

  • NAIA Trust.

  • National Animal Interest alliance

  • Take The Lead.

  • City of Roseburg Canine Service Dept.
